Fine Arts Day Camp

June 18 - July 27, 9:00am - 4:00pm
1 week minimum registration
Each week of Fine Arts Day Camp, there will be lessons in drawing, painting & sculpting. Lessons will vary each week. Weather permitting, students will sketch, paint & sculpt outdoors in the backyard garden under a shade canopy. The instructor teaches all lessons by demonstration. .
drawing techniques, manga/Japanese anime, clay coil pots, clay creatures, basket weaving, the art of mosaics, drawing/ painting the cartoon figure, painting techniques in various media (watercolor, acrylics, oil, & tempera), exploring pastels, mural painting, the art of portraiture, art history, sculpture in paper mache, adventures in the 3rd dimension (sculpture using household or found objects), shadow and line (the secrets of drawing)
Spaces are limited. One week minimum. Choose 1 or more weeks.
5 student minimum for camp to run
Schedule of Fine Arts Day Camp: Time: 9:00am - 4:00pm,
Morning: 15 minute snack break, snacks & juice/ bottled water provided
Lunch: 1 hour lunch break from 12 noon to 1:00pm, students must bring their own lunch
Afternoon: 15 minute afternoon snack break, snacks & juice/ bottled water provided

Week 1: June 18 - Jun 22, 5 days (Tuition per student: $375.00) limit of 8 students total
Week 2: June 25 - Jun 29, 5 days (Tuition per student: $375.00) limit of 12 students total
Week 3: July 2 - July 6, Closed July 4th, 4 days (Tuition per student: $300.00) limit of 12 students total
Week 4: July 9 - July 13, 5 days (Tuition per student: $375.00) limit of 12 students total
Week 5: July 16 - July 20, 5 days (Tuition per student: $375.00) limit of 12 students total
Week 6: July 23 - July 27, 5 days (Tuition per student: $375.00) limit of 12 students total
All 6 Weeks: $2175.00 total - $180.00 discount= $1995.00

Artwork will be made in a variety of media such as:
sand art, fabric painting, paper crafts, paper mache sculpture, prints, mobiles, hand puppet making, t-shirt design, weaving pot holders, scratch art, drawing and painting on wood and paper, string art, make a dreamcatcher, create mardi gras masks, carp windsocks, and more.
Classes will be held indoors or outdoors at the art studio depending on weather conditions. All supplies and snacks are included in the tuition fee.

Oil Painting- Landscapes on Large Canvas (ages 10 - 17):

Wednesdays, 6:00pm to 8:30pm; 2.5 hours per class Tuition per session: $120.00, supplies and snacks included Explore painting such as color theory, composition, color mixing, brushwork, & blending. Emphasis is placed on developing skills and having fun. -- limit of 10 students

Art Class Application

There's no limit to what the imagination can create in clay! In this class students will create wild and whimsical creatures, both real and imagined, using Sculpey, oven bake clay or paper mache. - limit of 12 students per class

Advanced Sculpting Techniques (ages 10 - 17):
Mondays, 6:30pm to 8:30pm; 2.5 hours
Art Class Application
Tuition per session: $120.00, supplies and snacks included
We will be creating masks and figure based sculptures using armature wire, forms, and self-hardening claystone clay. This class will also explore the creation of texture using clay tools. There will be an emphasis on anatomy and creativity.

Manga Drawing Class (ages 7 - 15): Serious younger students may apply Thursdays, 6:30pm - 8:30pm, 2 hours per class
Art Class Application
Tuition per session: $84.00, supplies and snacks included MANGA, is the Japanese word for comics or printed-cartoons. Manga appeals to young children, teens and adults, and is now represented in different "styles" that are favored by individual age and social groups. All the subject matter will feature Manga characters. It's the best of both worlds for kids that love Manga. They develop skills that translate to any kind of realistic drawing: light and shadow, line and tone, perspective and foreshortening, hands, faces and body action....Manga! -- limit of 12 students

Student artwork is displayed in an online web gallery. The instructor, Mrs. Stacey Kaelin, is a professional artist and published illustrator. She is best known locally for her series of murals and mosaic art featured at the Bayonne Public Library.
Students participate in our annual public art show that is held in the Gallery of the Library.
Hundreds of guests attend our art show each year.
The annual art exhibit includes: an opening reception with... invitations, a program, & hors d'oevres.
Free snacks and juices every class.
Each month, Creation Imagination gives out art supplies as birthday gifts.
In 2007, we published our own series of calendars.
In 2008, we published our first student art book and held a book-signing party to celebrate.
Classes began in 2004 and the number of students has increased significantly every year.
